New Refrigerator for Family Literacy Childcare

A new refrigerator has been installed in the Childcare room for the Family Literacy Program here at the Church of Peace. The funds to by the refrigerator were provided by the Moline Foundation. Having a nice unit in the room permits the caregivers to get snacks and bottles and such without having to leave the children's area. We think this makes it safer and provides better supervision for the children. We are grateful to the Moline Foundation for their support.

The Family Literacy Program is a collaboration of Blackhawk College, the Church of Peace, the Rock Island School District #41 and the Regional Office of Education. Most of the families that participate are new immigrants to the United States.
